EC Enterprise: Crystall DLL Error on Startup

Problem:  After installing EnergyCAP and launching it for the first time, you get an error message relating to CRPE32.DLL which crashes EnergyCAP.

Solution:  There is probably another version of Crystal Reports installed on the PC which is newer than the version EnergyCAP uses.  Look in the C:\Windows\system32 folder for the file CRPE32.DLL and note the size and date.  The file size, not "size on disk", for the version that comes with EnergyCAP 5.x and 6.1 is 4587577 bytes or 4.37 MB and the Modified Date should be Feb 9, 2001.  It is difficult to say what is the best solution for these cases.  However, most users have been successful with replacing this CRPE32.DLL file with the most recent file that is available from Crystal.  This would ensure that EnergyCAP as well as the other Crystal applications would be able to function normally.  If you have updated the DLL and continue to experience problems, try to uninstall the other applications using Crystal Reports and re-install EnergyCAP. There may simply be a conflict between the Crystal Reports versions that cannot be resolved.  Contact Crystal Reports support and online forums for more assistance with getting multiple versions of Crystal Reports installed on the same PC.
