**REMINDER: Audit Release and my.energycap.com Changes made July 27, 2019
Posted by Joel Brickell on 01 August 2019 09:31 AM

The weekend of July 27, 2019, EnergyCAP updated its login experience and released new audits features to all ECI-hosted databases. These updates were originally communicated via a July 9, 2019 email (see below) and have been released to some clients already. Your organization will see these changes applied this coming weekend.

Note to Bill CAPture clients: At a later date, the new audits will run automatically on Bill CAPture bills. Updated Bill CAPture reports will also be released at that time. Bill CAPture clients will be notified when the new items are ready to be released.

One of the most requested features in EnergyCAP is the ability to audit bills for errors and discrepancies. We are pleased to announce that bill audits will be added to EnergyCAP Version 7 as part of our 7.5 release.

We’ve redesigned EnergyCAP audits to make them easier to use for novice and experienced users. Audits in EnergyCAP Version 7 include the following features:

  • Bills are automatically audited as they are entered/imported (no need to set up and run audits manually).
  • Audit exceptions are highlighted on each bill to help your team quickly identify issues and resolve them quickly.
  • Possible bill problems are highlighted as you type within the bill entry screen to help avoid errors before bills are saved to your database.
  • Bills that do not pass audits are automatically flagged for follow up.
  • Flagged bills can be assigned to users for follow up, and users can comment on findings and track savings through the “Cost Recovery” field (an easy method for reporting on the value your team brings through ongoing review of billing issues in EnergyCAP).

  • Bills can be manually flagged for follow up
  • New functionality integrates the benefits of our legacy Issue Tracker feature with all of the other EnergyCAP Version 7 features.

Many additional features included in our upcoming release will make analyzing and managing your bills easier than ever before. A video training series on audits and flagged bills will be made available in EnergyCAP’s user guide. Some help documentation is already available for the audit and bill flags features:

  • Flagged bills overview: Overview of the audit process, how bills are flagged, actions to take, and permissions associated with flagged bills
  • Bill flag audit rules: Details about the specific audits used to flag bills
  • Additional help materials will be made available closer to the release date including how to view flagged bills in your dashboards, reporting on flagged bills, and more.

EnergyCAP’s login process available at my.energycap.com will also be updated to automatically log users into EnergyCAP Version 7. Users will no longer need to select which version of the EnergyCAP application they wish to use. We’ve also added a new status bar to EnergyCAP Version 7 at the bottom of the screen that includes a quick-link for users who wish to access EnergyCAP Version 3.

Details about the updated login experience will be available in help documentation closer to the release date.
