EC Pro: Unable to open Database in Program or SQL Management

Issue: Unable to open the database in ECAP Pro 2008 or through SQL Management Studio Express. Getting an error message "inaccessible file or insufficient memory or disk space: error code:945"

Solution: If you are getting this error, please check the databases .ldf file and see if it is to "Compress contents to save disk space". You can get to the database files through one of two (2) locations.

  1. C:\MSSQL\Data - this is from Pro 2006 installs and upgrades from Pro 2006.

  2. C:\Program files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data - this will be the location from a fresh install of Pro 2008 and up.

You will find your Schools files named in this manner ec_YourSchool_Log.ldf  Right mouse click on this file and select properties. From there, go to the bottom of that window and left mouse click on the Advanced button. In the new window, Advanced Attributes go to the bottom section Compress or Encrypt Attributes and make sure to remove the check mark next to Compress contents to save disk space. After this is done. Open ECAP Pro back up and log in with your user initials and try to open your database. Should open with no issues.
