EC Enterprise: Report Loading-Blue Screen of Death

Issue: I'm trying to run a report, but the "Report Loading" message appears with a blue screen.

Solution: Usually in this context, "Report Loading" means "Report Not Loading". The blue screen indicates that EnergyCAP is having trouble generating the report. The most frequent problem is an incorrect REPORT PATH. This is the path EnergyCAP uses to "find" the information to generate the report.

To check your report path settings, run EnergyCAP and click Tools/Options-Global. The Options window will appear. Click the Reports tab and locate the Reports path: field. Verify that the path exists, and that the indicated directory contains the current report (.rpt) files. There should be nearly 200 of them.

If the report files are not in the specified directory, change the path to conform to the correct reports location. Then click the OK button to exit the Options window.

If no .rpt files are available, it may be necessary to download and install the most current report set from EnergyCAP. Go to the Report Manager (Reporting>Reports) and click Report/Update Reports from the menu options. The Pick Reports to Install window will open. In most cases, select the Web radio button option and then click the Get Reports button. In a few minutes, the list box will display a list of available reports. Choose the desired checkbox options and then click OK to begin the report update. EnergyCAP will indicate the report download progress. The process may take a few minutes to complete.
