EC Pro/Express - New Way to Add Users Using Version 7

With the release of Version 7.9 and the sunset of Version 3, the way users are added to the Professional and Express products has changed. There will no longer be an invitation email sent to users. New user setup will take place within EnergyCAP. 

New users can be created by an existing user with one of the following user roles:

  • Administrator: Full Access
  • Administrator: Security and Global Settings

** There should be at least one user within the database with permission to create and edit users.

The admin user who is setting up the new user will be responsible for relaying the username and temporary password along to the new user. 

If you are an admin, follow these steps to add a new user: 

  1. Log into EnergyCAP.
  2. Click on the Settings icon in the bottom left corner. 
  3. Select Users and Roles from the Settings menu.
  4. On the Users screen (Active Users tab), click on the Add Users button on the right.
  5. You should now see the Add New User wizard which will walk you through setting up a new user in EnergyCAP.
  6. Once the user is successfully set up, notify the user of their username and temporary password.
