EC Enterprise: Reports are giving errors after running the Report Updater - ECE Self-Hosted Clients Only

ISSUE:  I have run the "Update Reports" process and now I am getting errors when running reports.

Solution:  This article is related to Self-Hosted Clients using ECE6.3 SP2 (build or earlier (ECE6.3) installed and using database version 72 or later.

A fix will be provided in the next release of ECE6.3 SP2 which should be available soon.

If you fall under the configuration above, you would be installing report stored procedures that are incompatible with the database version being used.  This will primarily impact CAP reports but could potentially impact others.

One of the following step need to be taken to resolve the issue.

  1. Upgrade their version of ECE6.3 SP2 to the release AFTER the current build of (at this time we are unaware of what that build number will be).
  2. An immediate fix would be to open the reportupdate.ini that will be used by your EnergyCAP.exe instance that is used to update the report stored procedures.  It will be located in one of two places, depending on whether you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System.  See below for locations;

Location for both 32 and 64-bit OS:

64-bit OS - C:\Program Files (x86)\EnergyCAP Enterprise\reportupdate.ini

32-bit OS - C:\Program Files\EnergyCAP Enterprise\reportupdate.ini

The reportupdate.ini file will need to be modified to:

With the number being your database version that you are using.
