EC Enterprise: SysAdmin functions in Desktop version

Sample Problem: I have EnergyCAP Enterprise Desktop release 4.3. When I try to perform an Admin menu function I get the message: "Your UserID is not valid for attaching databases."

Solution: Incorrect login for these functions. Check organization user permission settings. Try exiting the program and logging in again as User=SYSTEM and pw=SYSTEM. All letters MUST be uppercase.

EnergyCAP Enterprise release 4.1 and later grants some system administrator privileges (db_backupoperator and db_ddladmin) to the EnergyCAP user (called 'esuser'). These are necessary in order to allow the EnergyCAP operator to perform database operations: attach, detach, delete.

These functions are particularly necessary for users of the Desktop version of EnergyCAP in which case the database is usually maintained locally on MSDE (the 'lite' desktop version of Microsoft SQL Server).

These functions are not normally required in client-server installations where theh database resides on a network server and these privileges may be removed from esuser.
