This Technical Bulletin recommends a solution for a problem with viewing bill images from within EnergyCAP.
PROBLEM: "We have one PC here that as of today will no longer allow us to view a bill image from within eCap (.TIF). When we try to view within eCap it asks if you want to go to the internet and 'Find' a program to use, or 'Save' the image to a temp folder. Any idea on what may have happened (this pc worked fine yesterday)....maybe a MS auto update changed something?"
SOLUTION: In at least one instance this problem has been confirmed as a computer configuration issue relating to a Microsoft Windows update. The Bill Image viewer uses the default Internet browser. Check/reconfigure the browser settings and try to open the image file by entering the URL bill image location in your default web browser. If you are still unable to open the file from your default browser, try opening a different image file. If multiple files are affected, try doing a Windows System Restore to a point prior to the time the problem was reported. This should solve the problem. Then, if desired, carefully load any subsequent Windows updates one by one while checking to ensure that EnergyCAP functionality has not been impaired.
As this is a PC configuration issue, we recommend consulting your IT department for further assistance.
