EC Enterprise: Datasource list is empty in Windows 7

Problem:  In Windows 7 (64bit) it is possible that you've created System DSN ODBC connections but they are not listed in the Datasource drop-down in the EnergyCAP login screen.

Solution:  Since your Windows 7 machine is 64-bit based, by default the ODBC administrator that's linked through the start menu is the older 32-bit version that doesn't play entirely well with the 64-bit registry. Instead, you have to run a modified version of the 32-bit ODBC Administrator from another folder. Why Microsoft did this since the system knows it's a 64-bit system is beyond our comprehension! So, to correct the problem, please LOGIN AS A SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR and follow these steps:

Using Windows Explorer, go to the folder: %systemroot%\Windows\SysWoW64

Which likely translates to: c:\Windows\SysWoW64.

Run the application: odbcad32.exe

Re-setup your System DSN ODBC Datasource and all should be OK.
